About the Author



Jenn Roush will always be a teacher librarian. Currently the Assistant Director of Curriculum and Instruction in California’s Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, she supervises curriculum and library programs in 31 schools, home to 22,000 children in one of the country’s most culturally diverse communities. Her drive to ensure that school libraries thrive and evolve in their vital role as critical resources for all Learners spurred her transition from site leader to district level administrator in 2016.

Recipient of the 2018 California School Library Association Administrative Leadership Award, Ms. Roush earned her MLIS from San Jose State University in 2016, her teaching credential from UC Davis in 2006 and a BA in English with an emphasis in teaching from UC Davis in 2005. Jenn Roush is passionate about her young family, equity and culturally responsive teaching, school/community partnerships to guarantee information access, and making social media a conduit connecting students, school/public libraries and the community. She understands the departmental and political workings of a school district, honing a keen sense of the urgency and fidelity required to accommodate an entire community.

FSUSD Students Are Amazing Readers

Congratulations Fairfield-Suisun community! We heard that you have AMAZING READERS ! Students in our community are working hard to learn foundational reading skills that will serve as the building blocks for a lifelong love of reading and give them the ability to read to learn ! FSUSD Libraries is on a mission to promote literacy and help each student see themselves as a reader! We distributed 30 signs to our 1st and 2nd grade teachers and asked them to use the Amazing Reader sign as a way to promote literacy, celebrate accomplishments, and let students SEE THEMSELVES AS A READER . We are excited to see the signs starting to pop up in neighborhoods as a way to promote literacy and celebrate a love of reading.
